| Eligibility |
| (1) |
Privately financed international students whose nationalities are Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, East Timor, or Vietnam in a Japanese Graduate school (Research students are not eligible). |
| (2) |
Those who are being enrolled in a Master’s program in April 2017, or those who are enrolled in a doctoral course in April 2017, having at least one year of the standard duration of the course as of April 2017. |
| (3) |
Possess strong interests in improving international understanding and a strong will to participate in events hosted by the Foundation. |
| (4) |
Must not receive funding from other scholarship foundations under any circumstance. |
| (5) |
Possess ‘college student’ visa status. |
| (6) |
Does not have a parent employed in Japan. |
| (7) |
Must not have a PhD. degree. |
| (8) |
Those who have sufficient English language skills for their study, and possess strong will to obtain Japanese language skills. |
| (9) |
Those who are willing to participate exchange activities as alumni after the expiration of Sato Yo International scholarship. |
