Eligibility |
The fall application slot is for students who will be attending University in October or April of 2016 and 2017 respectively. However, April 2017-students cannot be newly enrolled, first-year students.Applicants must fulfill the following conditions:

Privately financed international students whose nationalities are Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, East Timor, or Vietnam and who are enrolled in a Japanese Graduate school (Research students are not eligible). |

Possess strong interest in the improvement of international understanding and a strong will to participate in events hosted by the Foundation. |
(3) |
Must not receive funding from other scholarship foundations under any circumstance. |
(4) |
Possess ‘college student’ visa status. |
(5) |
Does not have a parent employed in Japan. |
(6) |
Must not have a PhD. degree. |
(7) |
Must be enrolled in a program that will continue for over 1 year from October of 2016. |
(8) |
Must be able to communicate in Japanese. |
(9) |
Those who are willing to participate exchange activities as almnus, even if his/her Sato Yo International scholarship has expired. |
