| Eligibility |

Privately financed international students who are enrolled in a Japanese graduate school as regular doctoral students, or as a research student after having finished a doctoral course to obtain a doctoral degree. Those who already have obtained or will have obtained a doctoral degree by July, 2018 are not eligible. |

International students from Asian and Asian Pacific region;
Korea, China, Taiwan, Mongolia, Indonesia, Cambodia, Singapore, Thailand, East Timor, Philippines, Brunei, Vietnam, Malaysia, Myanmar, Laos, India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Australia, New Zealand, Oceania Islands. |

Those who can receive a letter of recommendation from their supervisors. |

Those who are majoring in Humanities and Social science. |
