Privately financed international students who are nationals of Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, East Timor, or Vietnam, and will not be able to complete their doctoral course due to Covid-19 in March 2022, and continue to study to obtain a doctoral degree in March 2023. |

Having strong interest in the improvement of international understanding and a strong will to participate in events hosted by the Foundation about 6 times/year. |
(3) |
Not receiving any scholarship or funding from other scholarship foundations under any circumstance. |
(4) |
Not receiving any funds though the University’s program. |
(5) |
Living in Japan at the time of application and having a ‘college student’ visa status. |
(6) |
Those whose parent is not employed in Japan. |
(7) |
Those who have not obtained a PhD. degree. |
(8) |
Those who have more than one year left for completing their course when scholarship payment starts. |
(9) |
Those who are able to communicate in Japanese. |
(10) |
Those who are willing to participate exchange activities as almnus, even if his/her Sato Yo International scholarship has expired. |
