Eligibility

The fall application slot is for students who will be attending University in October or April of 2014 and 2015 respectively. However, April 2015 students cannot be newly enrolled, first-year students.Applicants must fulfill the following conditions:

(1)	Privately financed international students who hail from Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, East Timor, or Vietnam and are enrolled in a Japanese Graduate school (Research students are not eligible).
(2)	Possess strong interest in the improvement of international understanding and a strong will to participate in events hosted by the Foundation.
(3)	Must not receive funding from other scholarship foundations under any circumstance.
(4)	Possess ‘college student’ visa status.
(5)	Does not have a parent employed in Japan.
(6)	Must not have a Ph.D. degree.
(7)	Must be enrolled in a program that will continue for over 1 year from October of 2014.
(8)	Must be able to communicate in Japanese.
(9)	Those who are willing to participate exchange activities as almnus, even if his/her Sato Yo International scholarship has expired.

Amount

Amount: 180,000 JPY/month
Duration:
– October 2014 students: 2 years from October 2014 to September 2016
– April 2015 students: 2 years from April 2015 to March 2017

Applicants must submit the following documents to ILO. Application Form should be printed in single page and should not be stapled.

1.	Application Form for Scholarship from private Foundations,　 2 copies
2.	Current academic transcript, as well as transcripts from the school or institution previously attended (excluding Japanese language schools), 2 copies
3.	Complete set of Application Form(Foundation specified form)
4.	Certificate of admission or Certificate of enrollment
5.	Research plan (Size of A4)
