Call for tutors – Cultural exchange at Toyofuta Elementary School / Closed

The Kashiwa City Education Committee has recently offered an opportunity
for international students / researchers to give a small presentation about
your countries at local elementary schools.
The third grade students at elementary schools start learning English
as a second language, and foreign culture, andthe Toyofuta Elementary School wants to invite GSFS international students as a lecturer who introduce your country and culture to their class.

If you are interested in teaching/introducing you country at Toyofuta Elementary school,
please apply by filling in the following Google Form by June 28, 2019.

1. Objective

To introduce the world countries to Japanese elementary school students

2. Location

Toyofuta Elementary School (five minutes walk from the Building of
Environmental Studies)

3. Eligibility

International students studying or researchers working on the Kashiwa
campus, and having a working permit

4. Possible working date

1) September 13 (Fri) 2019, 14:30- 15:40 (class is from 14:50 – 15:40)
2) September 20 (Fri) 2019, 14:30- 15:40   (class is from 14:50 – 15:40)
3) September 27 (Fri) 2019, 14:30- 15:40   (class is from 14:50 – 15:40)
4) December 6 (Fri) 2019, 14:30- 15:40   (class is from 14:50 – 15:40)
5) December 13 (Fri) 2019, 14:30- 15:40   (class is from 14:50 – 15:40)
6) January 17 (Fri) 2020, 14:30- 15:40 (class is from 14:50 – 15:40)
7) January 24 (Fri) 2020, 14:30- 15:40   (class is from 14:50 – 15:40)
8) January 31 (Fri) 2020, 14:30- 15:40   (class is from 14:50 – 15:40)

Two persons will teach one class. Please let us know your availability
for each day by the Google Form.

5. What to teach/introduce

Your country and culture. You may use a poster, or PPT file. Songs or
dances might be good communication tool.

6. Language in class

You are expected to use English or your mother tongue mainly in a class.
If you can translate your words to Japanese roughly yourself so that children understand, that would be good.
If you don’t speak Japanese ILO will try to arrange a pair with a Japanese speaker.
Application from non-Japanese speakers is welcome.

7. Payment

The Kashiwa Education Committee will about JPY 2,500 per one class.
